Web Address: UCARE

UCARE, Urticaria Centers of Reference and Excellence is a division of GA²LEN, the Global Allergy and Asthma European Network. The main aims of GA²LEN UCAREs are to provide excellence in urticaria management, to increase the knowledge of urticaria by research and education, and to promote the awareness of urticaria by advocacy activities. Urticaria is a common, debilitating, and often hard to treat condition that can be challenging for both patients and treating physicians, especially when chronic. With more than 130 member centres in 41 countries, GA²LEN’s UCARE network is the biggest and most active consortium of urticariologists and urticaria centres with the biggest global reach to patients affected by Urticaria and its comorbidities.

UCARE endorses multiple scientific research projects and papers and with its access to physicians and researchers is the platform to for your research project. To find out more about doing a scientific project with UCARE simply follow the link in the further resources below:

In our efforts to educate the world about Urticaria we have launched 2 educational programs:
UCARE LevelUp – The free physician information and education program
is an enduring educational program, creating an interactive, virtual, and comprehensive environment where healthcare professionals worldwide can learn, network, and share best clinical practices in chronic urticaria (CU).

UCARE 4U – The patient information and education program brings extensive information directly to patients affected by urticaria. It aims to update patients on recent developments in urticaria and help them understand causes, triggers, comorbidities, and treatment of Chronic Urticaria (CU) and it wants to unite patient and physician efforts to improve the treatment of CU and to uphold interaction and cooperation.

In the efforts to ensure optimal patient treatment UCARE has launched its first app:

CRUSE is UCARE’s Chronic Urticaria Self Evaluation App that has been launched in Austria, Germany, Switzerland and the UK and is soon coming to the rest of the world. Continued monitoring and documentation of CSU disease activity, impact and control are needed for patients to receive optimal treatment. With CRUSE®, patients fill out their PROMs (patient reported outcome measures) and are able to send a report of their scores to their treating physician via E-Mail for instance (including UAS/AAS, UCT/AECT, WPAI, EQ5D, pictures and current/ prior treatment).

Urticaria day (UDAY) is the crescendo of urticaria awareness that takes place on the 1st of October each year and offers webinars, videos digital, live events and much more.

UCARE also has special urticaria focus events such as:

  • Global Urticaria Forum (GUF)
  • UCARE Conference
