Dear Colleagues
It is an honor to welcome you to US Respiratory & Pulmonary Diseases. This new journal is an open access, bi-annual publication that aims to publish unbiased, balanced reviews, original research, case reports, symposium reports, and topical editorials on subjects of interest to the respiratory community. Areas of focus include, but are not limited to, asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease, idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis, pulmonary hypertension, cystic fibrosis, thoracic oncology, respiratory tract disorders, allergic rhinitis and other respiratory allergies, influenza, airway and lung infections, sleep-related breathing disorders, and inhalers and other device therapies.
The journal specializes in comprehensive review articles that are written by world-renowned key opinion leaders from a variety of respiratory disciplines, and aim to make data from primary papers accessible to all healthcare professionals. The journal also welcomes observational, real-world, and health outcomes research. Our articles intend to provide practical advice and opinions on how current research findings can help physicians in the everyday clinical setting. We hope that these articles will promote discussion and learning.
All articles are subject to double-blind peer review, conducted by at least two independent experts in the field, to ensure that articles are balanced, unbiased, and relevant. The journal is open access, enabling readers to download articles free of charge and allowing widespread dissemination of information. US Respiratory & Pulmonary Diseases is supported by an editorial board consisting of leading experts from the US from a number of respiratory disciplines.
The journal is of interest to physicians, healthcare professionals, pharmaceutical professionals, and researchers across the US, providing practical advice relevant to the clinical setting and addressing the most salient developments in the respiratory field. We also offer authors the opportunity to publish multimedia content alongside their work including podcasts, videos, and slides.
We are always keen to hear from leading authorities wishing to discuss potential submissions, and will give due consideration to any proposals. Articles are independently commissioned by the managing editor and editorial board. We also welcome industry-sponsored articles that are balanced and relevant. Our journal adheres to the publication guidelines recommended by the International Committee of Medical Journal Editors (ICMJE) (www.icmje.org) and the Good Publication Practice guidelines (//www.ismpp.org/gpp3). All authors are asked to disclose personal, commercial, academic, and financial interests in the disclosures section, along with any funding, financial support, and medical writing assistance relating to the paper. The ‘Instructions for Authors’ information is available for download (at www.touchRESPIRATORY.com).
We look forward your participation in this new journal, which will surely play an important role in keeping professionals updated on the most relevant advances in the field of respiratory and pulmonary diseases.
